Why It's Important to Make An Appointment

By , 7/16/2020

It may seem antiquated, but an appointment is the best way to guarantee a positive interaction at the dealer.

Buying a car doesn’t have to be an arduous process. There are channels set up to streamline the process and make it as easy and painless as possible. Making use of these avenues will result in you having a much more enjoyable buying experience, and will even help to ensure you get the best price possible.

Dealers aren’t devil people that want you to suffer in order to be worthy of buying their car. It may have felt in the past that this was the case, but that is no longer the case. Each customer that walks through the dealers door is just as important. Even if you don’t purchase a vehicle, your buying power and online voice have a powerful influence over a dealer.

The last thing the dealer wants is for you to walk out unhappy.

To prevent this, dealers have made many advances that make your life easier. Starting online, these advanced systems have made it possible to get you into a new car faster and easier than ever.

We have covered much of the online process before, but one important component of this system, is the appointment. Setting and following through with your appointment is one of the easiest ways to ensure you have the best experience possible.

How To Set An Appointment

Truthfully, it couldn’t be easier, with multiple outlets to use. Many dealers have online forums where you are able to easily fill out the date, time, and reason you are looking to come in. These online forms are clearly the easiest, and most convenient way to set an appointment, but not always the best to use, for you are not able to give many details on your visit or what you are looking for.

Better than this is a call, whether you reach out directly to the dealer or they reach out to you, a phone call is the most personal and effective way to set an appointment. You have an accountable individual that is setting up your date, listening to your needs, and ensuring your needs are accurately looked after.

Another option, if you don’t want to speak with someone, or simply don’t have the time/ability to do so, many dealers are able to text you. Texting is the next best line of communication with the dealer, since typically, you are still communicating with a real person that is at the dealer and is able to care for your needs.

Why It Is Important

When you schedule an appointment, it does several things for you. First, it lets the dealer know that you are a serious buyer. Many dealers content with hundreds, even thousands of inquiries a day. The more that you interact with the dealer, the more likely they are going to be able to help you, and will be willing to work with you.

An appointment also ensures that someone is ready for you when you get to the dealer. As stated before, dealers are busy places, with a constant flow of people in and out, especially during busy times or busy times of the year.

You are also able to start a relationship before you even step foot into the dealer. Speaking with someone on the phone gives you the opportunity to make a personal connection with the other party. This puts accountability on another human, and when you get to the dealer, you have a point of contact that you have already spoken with, knows what you are looking for, and has everything set up and ready for you.

With an appointment, you ensure that you have a salesman there and ready to deal. Instead of potentially waiting for who knows how long, there is someone there and ready for you, that already knows what you need, and even has the car pulled up and ready for you, seat heaters ready to warm up that booty.

In reality, you could, of course, still walk into a dealer at any time and strike up a deal. But with the advances in modern tech, and the ability to have someone there and ready for you, why would you?
